I just did a post in ping.fm ... which feeds into my Twitter ... which feeds into my Facebook....but, it shows that I did it 36 minutes ago. Strange as I did it 1 minute ago.
Edited: And, it only shows once within the same thread from what it seems.

no, you don't have to be logged in to see them. Just like you can see my status even if not logged in. Twitter / vBSetup
and just do a search for your hometown, or closest city if your isn't that big, and see how many ppl in your city are on twitter. Especially for use with local forums, it can be very successful.
