That makes good sense, good article. The traffic you need, the visitors you need are people interesting in your topic, moreover they need to be online forum oriented. If they enjoy forums, and your topic, it is almost guaranteed they will convert...almost

Re: 10 Rules for Driving Traffic Using Forums

Great article.

Does anybody have any ideas about how to increase for a niche site. I'm well infiltrated into the other to forums in my niche. I have inbound links at every major blog.

I've built a link directory of umpire associations through many, many hours of googling and will be sending out emails to contact people at those sites asking for a reciprocal link.

I was visiting some general sports forums and would respond to umpiring related issues. As you might of imagined a umpire junkie was not well received. The fans of the team who got screwed in their minds can't listen to reason when someone tries to explain why things didn't go their way. Then there are the situations like in the playoffs where the umpires just plain screwed up and then I became a target for their anger. So I stopped that approach, besides they weren't my target audience.

Any other ideas?

Ever searched Youtube to find other umpires who have videos posted? They will usually have connections to other umpires/people in the same field of interest.

Just an idea =)

I've been told by a couple blogs in the same niche that forums are worthless to them. Meh. could be, but I have a pageranking and they don't. :approve:
