Well for a contest I'll have sometime this month I wanted your input on an idea for the number of winners to have. BB gave me the idea, what I want to do is have the number of prizes depend on the number of entries. But what ratio of entrantsrizes should I do? Each winner would be getting over $100 worth in WoW-related goodies. I got a couple sponsorships lined up but I don't want to be paying out the ass if I get a million entries, on the other hand I don't want to only have 1 or 2 winners if I don't get a good turnout. I really don't know what kind of response I should expect. So whats a nice ratio that could work for both of the extremes that I listed?

idk like 10 to 1? no idea.....

that would be 10 winners for a 100 person contest or 1 for a 10 person contest (in case math isn't your strong suite )

I'm thinking maybe something like a first and second prize no matter what, then a third prize after X entries, fourth prize after Y entries, etc. That way you control how many prizes you give out on a sliding scale.
