I prefer the postbit over the legacy. I really detest the wasted space introduced by the legacy postbit.

On one of my older sites that started in the days before the postbit option, I changed everything over postbit, but gave the "old-timers" an option to use the legacy postbit in the usercp (because users don't like change).

I think the design allows for better placement of the avatar. Especially if you increase the size of the avatar a bit from the 90 x 90 px.

I also have a few other things under the avatar, and think that the whole thing slots together nicely with the post message and the user's signature (if they have one)

The other horizontal method seems to draw the eye to the wasted space up top, especially with larger avatars - imo

I think legacy is little bit better, because you have all the info for the poster in one place, and it kinda gives you a better view of the discussions going on.
