Branding is one of the most important things you should do for your sites. As a webmaster it is your responsibility to create a brand and carry it out throughout your site. I have tried to do that from the first few weeks of creation, but I knew if I wanted a fluid style that would go over the entire URL it would take some money and time. Well the time I had, but money was another thing. I’ve been saving a little each month for the past year for this day. As you see, the blog has a new look to it, if you check out the forums and directory, you’ll see the same look. I’d like to give a big thanks to miner at MinerSkinz for the style, he did a wonderful job and is extremely easy and professional to work with. I had always know that some day miner would design our style. There are many other great designers, and not to bash on them, but when I seen what miner could put out, I knew he was our man. I’ve already posted for a few reviews around the net, one at vbulletin.org, one at adminfusion.com and one at digitalpoint.com, all reviews have been outstanding! We’ve had several comments about the amazing postbit, and the simple navigation.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on these blogs so we’ve came up with a solution. We will have multiple authors that will post on this blog. If you are interested, and you are a forum member, please register on the blogs and vote in this post.

Many of you who run a wordpress blog know about the two recent updates they have pushed out. I don’t usually keep the blog as up to date as I should, but I did happen to update the blog last week, then got hit with another update this week..lol I don’t really see the changes that happen, but oh well, guess they are security updates.

vBulletin.com released the newest beta version of 3.7. It’s up to beta 5, should be a few RC’s then gold Hopefully before summer time. We upgraded the forum with no problems at all, again I don’t really know what was done with the upgrades, I just did it for any bug fixes..lol

One thing I can tell you about as far as updates go, is that I’ve updated the phpLD directory that we have on this URL. The latest verion (3.3) has the ability to submit articles which I think kicks ass! I’ve been wanting this feature for a while now, and I know there was a paid mod that would achive this, but I really didn’t want to hack the directory up for fear of upgrades. I’ve temporarily opened up the Submit Articles option up to non-logged in users and also added the WYSIWYG editor.. This way you can make some text bold and it should allow you to just submit a better, more readable, article.? Submit your Article here.

We are still looking for individuals that are interested in vbulletin coding and designing as well as vbulletin seo and promotion work. We are about to approach 20 members in our team, I’d like to add 10 more reliable people that want to work and want to make money!
We have made a vBulletin Services forum that only you and our vbulletin support team will have access to your threads. If you are looking for vbulletin work on your forum, then post as much info as possible in the vbulletin services forums. Post information like the website address, approximate number of hacks installed, and general stats of the forums as well as vbulletin version number. If you are looking for a forum upgrade, also include the number of styles you want updated..         The more style = more time = more money.. Most of the time I suggest not updating more then three styles, it’s just really time consuming if the designers haven’t updated their styles yet.
I’ve been pretty busy, as always, we are getting ready to put our house on the market and we still have a lot of work to do to get it ready. So far, we’ve updated the kitchen, in the middle of the bathroom and have some miner work to do in the other rooms. We just spent $1500 on carpet tonight for two of the rooms, I need to rip the carpet up in one and find a place for everything in those two rooms..lol
I’m not complaining, just saying because of this and my full time gig, I haven’t had much time for the forum. We have a great group of members though and I can see they have started to take up my lack of posting in welcoming new members and helping with the vbulletin questions.
Like I said, we could use a few more people interested in vBulletin work, especially SEO and back link building.

Anyways.. If you know how to upgrade a forum, or add hacks or modifications that can be found at vb.org or vbh, or update vbulletin styles, check out the thread on making money online at vBulletinSetup.

I’ve been working with a facebook developer for a week or two now and we have just released our first facebook application. It’s an arcade app that allows users to play and comment on free arcade games.
I’m planning on adding 2 or 3 more facebook apps in the next few weeks. It just depends on when the developer can get time to design a few of the suggestions.
We’re still working on a vbulletin / facebook integration and I have some exciting news about that, but I’m not at liberty to talk about it just yet. I should have some information within the next month to 6 weeks.
Anyways.. Just wanted to make a quick post about our new "Super Arcade" Facebook application :)
Check it out, send it to your friends !

After testing vBuletin 3.7 on a test forum for a few days I figured it was about time to give it a go on the live forum.

I made a full backup and begun to upgrade. Fortunately all the real important mods like the newsletter and GAR’s work fine on 3.7. Well I say that, but I haven’t blasted a newsletter out yet, the page shows fine so I assume the script will work okay as well.?

One of my favorite features about the 3.7 that really made me want to upgrade are the new profiles.
I’ve added a picture since our profiles are closed to guest. I haven’t had much time to play around with it, but you can see I changed some of the colors. I’m working on getting the profiles setup as username.vbulletinsetup.com. I’ll make them public if I’m able to do that.

I like the user albums, hopefully they’ll get more use then our plotoplog gallery does. I like the gallery, and I want to support them. It’s just we’re not really that type of forum…lol

One of the next great addons for vB3.7 is the social groups option.

It will be interesting to see how this gets used, I started an SEO group and an Artist group. I see bdude created a Southpaws group too. You can add images to these groups as well, which I think is really cool.
I think the vB devs have some work to do here still, it would be nice if we could have some modules on the right side or something to split the page up some.

vBulletin 3.7 has also added thread tags in the default install. I had the zoints thread tags on the forum for 7 or 8 months and I can’t say I was to impressed. I had boardtracker before that, and after seeing they didn’t "SEO" the url’s that we’ve paid to change with vbseo, I dropped them. I did however, let their bot still craw the forum. I get a hit every now and then from boardtracker, so I’ll suffer with their poor results. I did hide the bot though..lol "out of site, out of mind" type of thing I guess.

I know whitemike has already ported the recipe mod over to 3.7, I’m not sure if he’s posted it live yet though. I really dig the profiles and the social networking options they’ve added. Like the groups and ability to change the users profile colors and style is really cool in my opinion.

Well it’s 23*F here, the snow is blowing so hard, it’s horizontal.. We have a nice dinner and a play scheduled for tonight, I hope where able to see enough to drive :D

Happy Holidays everyone!
