Well hello again boys and girls. It has been a bit since I have had time to talk to you, but I thought I would talk about how we as webmaster can take? advantage of holidays. I know ok, so your thinking people wont show up on a holiday, and most times you would be right. But, If you take the time and set up a nice contest, they will come, they will most definitely come.

So What do you mean?

Well I have always thought that holidays are the best time for a nice contest to improve member support and or gain more members.? So say for instance labor day. An easy contest would be to ask people to write and let you know what they think of labor day? Or you could do a post contests. I like 1 day post contests the most. You get people to show up and contribute as much as possible in one day for a nice prize.

Now there are many ways to get people to do this, but be creative. Labor day prize, maybe a nice box of Omaha steaks. You can get something like that and show your members some love. Or you can create your own currency. But whatever you decide I think contests seem to work best on a holiday.

Also, I know this wont be popular, but something fun, is a server crash party. You invite all your members to show up certain day and or time, to try and crash server. Tell them to invite friends, and their friends to invite friends. I know, this could end bad, but its something that is fun. And it is great for those sites who have lost members do to inactivity.

But whatever you decide I hope you see that a contest with a holiday theme is great to improve traffic and member loyalty.

So, go out there and get started and have some fun. That is the best thing for any site, members having fun.
