Increase Adsense Earnings Tip #1
June 26, 2008 by Jason
Have you ever had a day where you get 6 clicks and $6 and the next day you’ve got 15 clicks and $.082? I’m almost positive everyone has had these days from time to time, and they just absolutely kill me!
The only thing different I noticed on these days were the eCPM amounts. On good days this amount is some where between $2.00 and $8.00 on my good days, and on the bad days its down below $1.00 always. So I wondered to myself how could i fix such a thing?
After some research, I came to two conclusions. I could show less advertisements per page, or I could attempt to filter out low paying advertisements. Both methods have some benefits and drawbacks. Less advertisements mean the ads you do show should get better, but this always isn’t the case. You could still get the crappy low paying advertisements. The next option is to filter the MFA (made for adsense) sites out. Or the sites you visit and are low quality. Its important you dont click your advertisements to try to figure out who pays what. Instead take the URL that appears in the ad, and type it to the address bar.
When you’re visiting the site, you should use your best judgement if the site is even worth appearing as a advertiser for your site, and you should be able to make an estimate if they’re paying good or not. I even found 8 URLs that redirected to the same low quality site. I had a feeling this was destroying my eCPM so all 8 have been blocked.
So far I’ve blocked around 15 URLs from appearing and my eCPM is back around the $2.00 range for today, after a few really low days. I’ll keep constantly checking the ads, and adding more and more to that competitive ad filter adsense provides. Hopefully my earnings can continue to increase!
